The Camel Estuary and surrounding area is unique in Cornwall in being able to offer a range of activities and experiences linked to an outstanding coastal and inland natural environment with sustainable access throughout. The Camel Estuary takes in the towns of Wadebridge, Padstow & Bodmin, along with the villages and coastal resorts of Rock, Polzeath & Daymer Bay. A short drive away to the north are the attractions of Port Isaac, Tintagel, Boscastle and Bude, to the south St Merryn, with its seven outstanding beaches, Watergate Bay & Newquay.

The Camel Trail – 18 miles of flat off -road walking, cycling and horse riding from Padstow, through Wadebridge to Bodmin and Bodmin Moor. The walk or ride to Padstow has few stopping points however, the ride to Bodmin passes the Camel Valley Vineyard, the Camel trail tea shop and Bodmin Jail. The trail links into the National Sustrans route and The Cornish Cycle routes for wider exploration.

South West Coast Path – England’s longest national trail is also accessible by car or bus from Wadebridge. Nothing beats escaping to the Coast and walking the Coast path. There are regular buses from Wadebridge to points upwards including Polzeath and Port Isaac as well as Padstow, St Merryn and the seven bays and Newquay.

Country House and gardens – Cornwall’s micro- climate has allowed the planting and nurturing of spectacular gardens over the centuries. Along with their historic houses, local properties such as Prideaux Place (Padstow), Pencarrow (Wadebridge) and Lanhydrock (Bodmin) are well worth a visit.

Beaches – there is an abundance of clean, sandy beaches with a rugged cliff scape which creates a real seaside experience.  Rock, Daymer Bay, Polzeath, Tregirls and St Georges Well. A short drive allows you to visit Trevone, Harlyn, Constantine, Boobys Bay, Treyarnon and Porthcothan for your enjoyment..

Water sports – the area is famous for surfing and a number of surf schools can provide teaching as well as equipment hire. Polzeath, Constantine and Harlyn are the most popular. Sailing, water skiing and diving are all available at Rock or Padstow and wind and kite surfing can be done at Daymer Bay

Golf – The links courses at Trevose and St Enodoc offer a high quality and challenging environment. St Kew, a 10 minute drive from Wadebridge, offers a pay and play option and other courses at Lanhydrock, Camelford, Launceston & St Mawgan should satisfy even the keenest golfer.
